Cheap hard drives work on Mac and PCs

    May 20th, 2011 by admin

If you’re in the market for cheap hard drives, one question you have to answer is whether you’re using a Mac of a PC. Most hard drives (but not all) can be formatted to work with either platform but some are a little touchy about it.It is possible to reformat the hard drive to work on one or the other of the formats but it takes some knowledge so you may not be comfortable doing it yourself. And if you have to pay someone to do it for you, the money you saved on the drive may go right out the window. And if you decide to reformat be very careful to back up all your files someone safe because the reformatting will erase all your files. As for using one hard drive for both types of computer, forget it. It won’t work.
