Where to Get Help for Data Recovery

When I tried to open up an important document on my computer, I just got an error message. I was planning on finishing my project later in the afternoon, but now I was not sure what to do. I decided to go online in search of a computer technician to find out if there was a way to get the document recovered. I found a local data recovery service that I discussed the problem with. He told me if I could bring the computer to his shop, he would see if he could recover the file.
